Brief introduction... Your subconscious mind guides most of your feelings, actions and results the way a pilot guides a plane. In fact, your subconscious mind may have even more impact on your life than your conscious mind. To change your life, you need to start by changing your mind. Once you change your thoughts, you can change your beliefs, your feelings, your actions and your results.
The 4 Steps of Your Freedom Coaching are (drum roll)...
1) Realize what you want (your dream or goal)
2) Relax (breathe deeply, get comfortable, have a long hot bath, climb under the covers, drink hot tea, and/or stretch)
3) Release (write, draw, scribble, or picture letting go of the beliefs, feelings, actions and/or experiences that are holding you back)
4) Replace (write, draw, doodle, or picture creating new beliefs, feelings, actions and/or experiences that you want, and help you to achieve your dreams & goals)
For example, if you want to make a living as a professional speaker, but you have a subconscious fear that you are not "good enough", you may procrastinate writing your speech, creating an intro video, or writing a speaker's bio. You may feel too nervous to call potential clients. You may choose a topic that's too generic, to guarantee that you won't get many speaking engagements. Here's how you can use Your Freedom Coaching with writing to live your dreams...
1) Realize what you want
Get pen & paper. With paper, it's easier for you to access the subconscious mind. Write what you want, and why you want it. To make your writing even more powerful, use the present tense, first-person and use positive language only. To engage your subconscious mind, include all five senses. For example, you can write, "I am giving a presentation to 500 managers. They are smiling, nodding, and laughing at my jokes. At the end, they give me a rounding standing ovation. I feel my spine tingle. After, the event manager thanks me profusely, and hands me a check for $10,000. The next day, I take my partner out to dinner after to celebrate and I get the vegetarian lasagna."
2) Relax
Next, choose how you want to relax. Relaxing helps you to access the power of your subconscious mind, which guides most of your actions the way a pilot guides a plane. You can...
* breathe deeply and/or meditate,
* loosen your clothing to get comfortable,
* have a long hot bath,
* climb under the covers,
* drink hot tea,
* stretch and/or do yoga
3) Release
Once you are deeply relaxed, take your pen & paper. Draw a line down the middle. On the left-hand side, write out all the subconscious thoughts that are holding you back. Aim to write at least ten without stopping. All ideas, even "crazy" ones are ok. It's best to get the crazy thoughts out of your subconscious mind and onto the paper. That way, you can influence them more easily. Your beliefs are often formed by childhood experiences, and they may or may not be true or even helpful. The important thing is to write them all down. It may take several pages.
4) Replace
Now, take a deep breath. Look at your first negative belief in your left-hand column. Cross it out. Exhale as you do, and imagine letting go of the power that that belief holds. Now, you can write a positive thought in the right-hand column to replace the negative thought. For example..
Subconscious Negative Beliefs
1) "I'm not good enough to be a speaker." 2) "Who would want to listen to me? I'm not famous." 3) "I don't deserve $10,000 for an hour." |
New & Improved Healthy Beliefs
1) "I'm learning to be a good speaker. I won a speech contest in school." 2) "I love Aikido (martial arts), so I can teach about Aikido and leadership. That's new & interesting." 3) "$10,000 per talk is the going rate. I Googled it. It is only $40 each for an audience of 250 people. If I can make them better leaders, it's worth it. I can do the talk for non-profits at a lower fee, until I'm ready to take it to the corporate world." |
Challenge: Choose one dream or goal. Follow the above 4 steps of Your Freedom Coaching, and write your subconscious beliefs. Then, choose new beliefs that are more helpful.
